The future of work, by design

It isn’t Human vs. AI.
It’s Human with AI.

The 4th HR & WorkTech Summit Malaysia 2027 is a premium one-day executive forum and boutique technology showcase bringing together Malaysia's leading HR, business, workforce and technology leaders to shape the next generation of work.

Under the theme "Human + AI: Designing the Intelligent Workplace," the Summit will examine how AI, agentic AI and digital technologies are transforming the way organisations recruit, develop, manage and engage their people. The programme will move beyond technology hype to address the practical challenges facing employers: redesigning jobs for human-AI collaboration, building future-ready skills, strengthening leadership, improving employee experience, using workforce data intelligently, governing AI responsibly and delivering measurable productivity gains.

The Summit will convene more than 200 senior decision-makers from government agencies, GLCs, multinational corporations and Malaysia's largest employers across financial services, telecommunications, technology, manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, logistics, infrastructure, energy, healthcare and other major industries.

More than a conference, it is also a mini exhibition that will showcase innovative HR technology, AI, talent, learning, workforce management, employee experience and workplace solutions, allowing delegates to experience new technologies and engage directly with solution providers.

This opening keynote explores how CHROs can strengthen workforce readiness, improve productivity and build organisational capacity for change. It will examine the decisions shaping the 2027 people agenda—from workforce planning and leadership development to employee experience—and how HR can demonstrate its contribution to sustainable growth.

Humans + AI at Work: Redesigning Roles, Skills and Accountability

As AI becomes embedded in everyday work, organisations must decide how tasks, roles and responsibilities should evolve. This panel explores where automation adds value, where human judgement remains essential and how employers can prepare people for changing expectations. Leaders will discuss job redesign, workforce transitions and performance measures, including how to build employee trust, preserve opportunities for early-career development and establish clear accountability when people and AI work together.

Learning That Delivers: Building Skills, Improving Performance

As business needs evolve, L&D teams face growing pressure to build relevant skills at scale. This keynote explores how organisations can identify priority capability gaps and design learning around real work—from digital fluency and business communication to frontline effectiveness. It will examine how personalised learning, practical experience and accessible delivery can support different employee groups, helping organisations move beyond course participation towards stronger job readiness and improved performance. PANEL DISCUSSION

Closing Malaysia's Skills Gaps: Hiring, Upskilling and Internal Mobility

Addressing Malaysia's skills gaps requires employers to look beyond external recruitment alone. This panel examines how organisations can balance hiring, employee development and internal mobility to build a stronger talent pipeline. Discussion will cover industry–education partnerships, skills assessment, career pathways and reskilling opportunities. Panellists will share how they decide which capabilities to recruit, develop or redeploy, while balancing immediate vacancies with the longer-term needs of the business and its workforce.

PANEL DISCUSSION

HR Tech That Delivers: Connected Systems, Better Employee Experiences

An expanding HR technology landscape offers more choice, but also greater complexity. This panel explores how organisations can connect core HR, payroll, learning and employee services to create simpler, more useful experiences. Leaders will discuss when to integrate, replace or consolidate systems, how to improve adoption and how to measure value beyond implementation. The conversation will also address data quality, privacy and governance as foundations for reliable insights and responsible use of AI.

KEYNOTE

Developing Leaders Who Deliver: Coaching, Communication and Change

Managers play a critical role in turning organisational priorities into everyday action, yet many are expected to lead change without sufficient preparation. This keynote explores how organisations can develop leaders who communicate clearly, coach effectively and build trust across diverse teams. It will examine practical approaches to leadership development—from experiential learning and feedback to workplace application—helping managers strengthen team capability, navigate difficult conversations and sustain performance through continuous change. PANEL DISCUSSION

High Performance Without Burnout: Wellbeing, Experience & Leadership

Organisations are under pressure to increase productivity while employees face rapid technological and organisational change. This panel explores how leadership, workload design, flexibility, wellbeing, manager quality and employee experience interact. Panellists will discuss how to create high-performing environments that remain sustainable, inclusive and attractive to talent rather than technologically efficient but humanly exhausting.

PANEL DISCUSSION

From Learning to Performance: What Makes Capability Building Stick?

Training creates value when employees apply what they learn and improve how work gets done. This closing panel explores what enables that transition, from manager involvement and opportunities to practise to coaching, reinforcement and a supportive learning culture. Enterprise leaders and learning specialists will discuss how to evaluate behaviour change and business outcomes, distinguish meaningful evidence from completion metrics, and use the findings to improve programmes and guide future investment in workforce capability.

Voices from past HR & WorkTech Summits

The human side
of progress.

Dr. Christina SS Ooi, FCMI
The summit was a wonderful opportunity to exchange perspectives with experienced leaders and explore how organizations can build more inclusive, future-ready workplaces. The discussion was engaging, thoughtful, and expertly guided, allowing every panelist to contribute meaningful ideas. I was especially impressed by the quality of the moderation and the way the session connected policy modernization, career longevity, knowledge sharing, and cross-generational collaboration.
